The background: By 2030, more than half of the American workforce will be Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC). Globalization has led to greater mobility and therefore more diversity. We see this as a huge opportunity. The more diverse the backgrounds of the people we work with, the greater the perspectives they bring to the table. And more perspectives mean more ideas, which is something we really encourage. It’s not something that happens on its own, however. Just like all business best practices, it involves setting goals, sharing accountability and evaluating progress. This is where Camber Outdoors is supporting us with training measures and resources.
It is not always easy to be open and tolerant in recognizing the uniqueness of every person. But mutual respect is an important company principle for us. Together, we are greater than the sum of our parts. It’s a vision that’s wholly in line with our ‘360° Responsibility’ strategy. The work of each and every person on the team contributes to the bigger picture, regardless of the color of their skin, their religious beliefs, personal skills or what gender they identify with. All our employees are given the opportunity to use their specific talents and are actively encouraged to do so. This helps us not just grow as a company, but also as individuals and as a community.
