WATERPROOFING FOR DRY GEAR

Hardwearing material, taped and welded seams, and TPU-coated zippers keep rain and spray out of these waterproof bike packs and off the pack’s contents when used as intended.

The durable straps on these bike bags feature hook and loop fasteners for quick adjustments and secure placement. Lightweight materials make the bags suitable for carbon bikes, too. The packs come with spacers that make it possible to mount them on a variety of handlebar styles.

When bikepacking, the equipment moves from the back to the bike. But what is the ideal way to pack your bike bags so that you can really fit everything in? The equipment should be light and compact and its total weight should be distributed as evenly as possible over the entire bike. This maintains the bike's off-road capabilities and enables balanced handling during the tour.

Ideally, light, easily compressible items should be packed in the handlebar bag and saddle bag. Compact, heavier items find their place in the frame bag.

HANDLEBAR PACK

Sleeping bag/insulation mat (if necessary, underlay for the insulation mat)
If necessary, bivouac sack, tent or tarp (incl. tent/ tarp poles attached to the outer material loops).

Depending on the size and pack size of the equipment, it may make sense to place it loosely in the handlebar bag without a pack sack, in order to compress it better.

Saddle Pack

Evening dress (e.g. one pair of long johns, long-sleeved shirt)
A change of socks

Handkerchiefs, sunscreen, after-sun lotion

The contents of the saddle bag should be packed according to the order or frequency in which the individual items need to be accessed. Equipment that is only needed in the evening goes to the very back of the bag, towards the seat post. The rain jacket, for example, is placed in the front area or on the bag to dry. To keep the saddle bag stable and balanced, heavy items are also placed in the lower area.

For a favourable centre of gravity, the heaviest items belong as far down as possible in the frame bag. Soft objects fill the gaps and dampen any rattling noises.
